In the national economy, the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) plays a crucial role in reflecting the challenges and opportunities of the industry. Knowledge of leadership styles is essential to coordinate activities, achieve objectives and understand their impact on quality processes and the administrative management of companies. This study was carried out with a quantitative, correlational approach and a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The independent variable was the Leadership style while the dependent variables were Quality of the processes and the administrative management factors. 420 questionnaires were applied digitally and in person to companies in the commerce sector of Tegucigalpa (249 small companies and 171 medium-sized companies). To evaluate the leadership style, the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ), the process quality questionnaire by Josep Juran and the Administrative Management Questionnaire by Henry Fayol were used. The results show that in small companies transactional leadership predominates with 25.48%, while in medium-sized companies leadership by results is more common with 25.24%. Regarding the relationship between Leadership Style and Process Quality, a significant relationship is found in most dimensions, except for the planning subdimension of Transactional Leadership. Regarding the relationship between Leadership Style and Administrative Management, a significant relationship was observed in general, except for the subdimensions of Direction and Control. In conclusion, the significant relationship between the leadership style of managers in SMEs in the commerce sector in Tegucigalpa and the quality of the processes, as well as with administrative management factors, is confirmed. These findings highlight the importance of effective transactional leadership to improve both the quality of processes and administrative management in SME companies in the commerce sector.
